Services in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Virginia and North Carolina
Ms. Freeman is licensed to practice in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Virginia and North Carolina. However, as Ms. Freeman now resides in North Carolina, services are only available to MA, NH and VA through telepractice ( HIPPA compliant ) and both in person and via telepractice in North Carolina.
Telepractice allows patient and clinician to view and hear each other on a Hippa compliant platform. Currently, Ms. Freeman uses doxy.me which operates best with Google Chrome, a camera and a microphone. Special external equipment is not required nor is a special app or a password needed. You can access her, when she is logged on, at https://toby.freeman/doxy.me. The patient simply puts the above address into their internet browser, then types their name when “guest” is requested. Ms. Freeman will then open the session.
Several insurance companies cover telepractice, just as they would an office visit. Each insurance company is different as is each policy. It is necessary for the patient to inquire to their insurer as to whether or not they cover OUT OF NETWORK speech therapy benefits, if telepractice is covered, and to gather the rest of the necessary information. Ms. Freeman is not in network with any insurance company or Medicaid at this time.
Ms. Freeman always recommends a fifteen minute “test” meet/greet on doxy.me initially to insure that all parties are receiving and sending video/audio signals perfectly, and that all parties are comfortable with this venue. There is no charge for this “meet/greet”.
Telepractice is best suited to patients who are comfortable sitting in front of a computer screen for periods of time and prefer the convenience of “in home” service. It works well with younger “busier” patients if the equipment is set up in the child's play area, and the parent is an integral part of the session. Parents also enjoy this venue as they are able to see/hear the session, as well as interact with Ms. Freeman before and after sessions.
